I am an Instant messaging addict. Its the fastest way I can contact with most of my friends and work mates. Many of my facebook friends are not available on gtalk and I never wanted a separate tab for facbeook chat. The only solution I liked was to somehow integrate FB chat in Pidgin. I used the Facebook chat plugin but that didn't work for me. Thanks to FB developers who added XMPP/Jabber support for Facebook chat and now we can easily enable FB chat in Pidgin.

The notification feature provided by pidgin 2.5.5 in ubuntu 9.04 is activated by default. Earlier it seemed to be a pretty attaractive thing but I have many people added in my friends list and getting a notificatin everytime someone logs in was pretty annoying.

Install pidgin 2.6 in fedora 11

Finally the latest version of Pidgin 2.6 is out now. For some of you who are wondering what is Pidgin, it is by far the best cross-platform Instant messaging client.Because of the advancements in libpurple it now supports both Voice and Video. Currently this feature is available only for XMPP but according to pidgin developers it will soon be available for all protocols.
