A Net Applications survey put Firefox at 25% of the recorded usage share of web browsers as of November 2009, making it the second most popular browser in terms of current use worldwide after Microsoft's Internet Explorer, and the most used browser independent of any one operating system.

Just after 3 days of the release of Firefox for Maemo RC3, Firefox has officially announced Version 1.0 of Firefox for the Nokia's Maemo Platform. This is the first mobile web browser released by Firefox and its the first moblie browser that supports addons, the charm of Firefox ;).

Firefox for Maemo RC3 released

Firefox has announced the Release Candidate 3 of its new broswer for smartphones "Firefox for Maemo". This release has a lof of improvements and bugs fixed than RC2. Loading and Zooming of web pages is faster, more responsive panning and the awesome bar now pops up much faster when you click on it. A major change in this release candidate is the dropped support for plugins(not addons).
