Weave sync addon provides Firefox users the ability to keep their browser info in sync across all their devices running Firefox. With the release of version 1.3, in addition to new features it will be rebranded to Firefox Sync.
Some of the changes will be the inclusion of about:sync-tabs and about:sync-logs instead of weave-*, some improvements in response time and UI, bookmark backup before initial sync, sync more preferences, account creation will be easier now with a more interactive UI and a lot others.

There is another interesting feature mentioned in the changelog. It will be the introduction of a new Javascript based crypto wrapper which will be used to enable experimental syncing in 64 bit Macs, Linux PPC and mobile devices - Android, Palm pre.
Firefox Sync 1.3 is still an extension, but there are plans of including Firefox Sync 2.0 in Firefox 4. Firefox Sync 1.3 has a second release candidate now and the developers are planning to release version 1.3 this month but there is still a lot of testing to be done. So, if you want to contribute by providing valuable feedback or just want to try out the latest beta, go to the weave homepage and click the big green button to download and install the experimental version.
