Ubuntu Global Jam back in action for Lucid
Ubuntu Global Jam is a great event where the amazing ubuntu community gets together to fix bugs, transtations, documentations and a lot more. Its an incredible opportunity for people to learn and contribute to Ubuntu. In addition, you get a great chance to meet other Ubuntu Contributors and fans. The next Ubuntu Global Jam has been announced to be around the weekend of 26-28th March this year.
Just gather some ubuntu fans with their laptops, a network connection, an everlasting Ubuntu spirit and you are a part of the incredible Ubuntu Global Jam. In order to make things simple, all the events around the world have one or more of the following themes.
- Bugs – finding, triaging and fixing bugs.
- Testing – testing the new release and reporting your feedback.
- Documentation – writing documentation about how to use Ubuntu and how to join the community.
- Translations – translating Ubuntu and helping to make it available in everyone’s local language.
- Packaging – packaging software for Ubuntu users to install with a clock
In addition to the above, this time they have also added an upgrade theme, Upgrade to Lucid from the last LTS, Hardy Heron or from Karmic and share your experience. The best thing about this event is that there is some thing for everyone.
This is pic from the last Global Jam in October before Karmic release in Ohio, USA. You can find some more pics of last UBJ here.
If you are planning to organise an event in your local, you may find more info about organizing jams here and then don't forget your jam in the Ubuntu Global Jam list.
