Macbuntu - Change your Ubuntu's theme to look exactly like Apple's MacOS X
After trying out Macbuntu on my system I can proudly say that no other OS has more flexible theming capablities than Linux. I think you would have guessed by now what Macbuntu does. It modifies your Ubuntu theme to look exactly like MacOS X. And if you have a decent Internet connection to download a few packages then it will hardly take a few minutes to get it done.
No, I am not just talking about configuring metacity for macos-like icons. It completely changes the login screen, the sound effects on various events, compiz animations and best of all, the top panel. It works exactly like in MacOS or in the Unity(netbook's theme), i.e. the menubar shows up in the top panel, instead of being in the application aka Global Menu.
I never owned a Mac and I am pretty happy with the theme. I have no earlier experience to compare but it looks perfect and flawless.

Download and Install Macbuntu
It is available for both 10.10 and 10.04. You can download the archive for respective versions here.
Once downloaded, untar the archive and run the installation script.
[shredder12]$ tar -xvzf Macbuntu-10.10.tar.gz
[shredder12]$ cd Macbuntu-10.10/
[shredder12]$ ./install.sh
Uninstall Macbuntu
Just like the installation script, developer has made the job of uninstalling it easy using another script
[shredder12]$ ./uninstall.sh
Please note that
There are a few things you might want to know before trying it out
- It doesn't work with Ubuntu Netbook edition
- It changes your desktop theme significantly.
- Some users have complained about messed up compiz settings after uninstalling it. You can try reinstalling compiz and compiz-core. It seems to have worked for some.

? Well, either never ask and die with it, ask the girl and die(you never know) or stop thinking too much and just use the TinEye reverse Image search to find out all the places where the image appeared, better resolutions, a story maybe, who knows where you might end up.
